Lead with your Core Values
Leading With your Core Values.
The Executive Farm Management program is an intensive business workshop that focuses on developing business leaders in large commercial family owned commercial farming operations in the South East US. We focus on Strategy and Innovation, Human Resources, Finance and Business Succession Planning. We kicked off our 5th program this week in Savannah.
This week, the first activity we asked our participants to complete was to spend time identifying their core values. At Justice Leadership, our approach with clients is 3 pronged: Lead Yourself; Lead your Team; Lead your Organization. This session started with Lead Yourself. Self Awareness is key before you can lead your Team or your Organization.
Your Core Values should drive every decision that you make for your team and for your business. Have you identified your core values? Are they in alignment with the work you are doing and how you are leading your team? When your values are out of sync with your organization’s goals or mission, it can create stress, lead to missed goals and can foster disengagement. Being out of sync is not the way to Lead a Successful Organization.
Today’s Tip? Start with your Core Values. Identify your top 5 Values and reflect: Are you in Sync with the work you are doing everyday? Are you leading your team and organization in a way that is honoring these values? What do you want to do differently in 2023? What do you want to continue to do well? Keep you Values in mind and revisit them quarterly and ask yourself these questions.
